Iselin With a population of about 17,000 people, Iselin (pronounced "IZ-lyn") is only 3.1 square miles, located in Middlesex County, and is part of the larger area known as Woodbridge. With small town character and charm, none of Iselin's buildings are taller than three stories high. The community was named for Adrian G. Iselin, a philanthropist who was one of the founders of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as well as the Museum of Natural History. Iselin has a now vibrant downtown area along Oak Tree Road, which extends into Edison, and includes the Clearview Edison Cinemas. Iselin has one of the largest Indian-American commercial markets in the USA, home to more than 100 Indian businesses, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. See also Woodbridge, of which Iselin is an unincorporated part. |
