is a residential suburban community in the metropolitan New York region. Westfield has excellent utilities and community services. It is noted for its beautiful downtown area, excellent school system, and convenient commuter train and bus service.

Westfield has nine public schools, plus several private and parochial schools. There is a substantial public library, plus various houses of worship, ample recreational facilities, parks, and many banks.

Originally known as the West Fields of Elizabethtown, the community gradually took its own identity and in 1903 was incorporated as the Town of Westfield. The idyllic town green was once the site of a motion picture starring Mary Pickford.
